2nd Degree - 3rd Degree - 4th Degree - 5th Degree - 6th Degree | ||||
| 1st DAN - Top speed, ultimate reflexes, natural fighting ability, professional teaching ability, and skilled mat work are demanded. | |||||
| 1st KYU (I) - Third Degree Brown - Test consists of advanced knowledge, skills, and techniques. | |||||
| 2nd KYU (NI) - Second Degree Brown - Test consists of advanced knowledge, skills, and techniques. | |||||
| 3rd KYU (San) - First Degree Brown - Great physical and mental reflexes are required. Powerful strength and a hard body. | |||||
| 4th KYU - Teaching ability is required. This is the first instructor rank. Speed and combinations of techniques are required. | |||||

5th KYU - Flowing katas are the
main requirement needed. Fighting skills and mat work are
now reaching the advanced stage.
